Our Classes
The School has seven classes ranging from Year
R to Year 6. Click on the links below to find out about each
class and its curriculum.
Homework
Learning
at home is an essential part of good education. Homework not
only reinforces classroom learning, it also helps children to
develop skills and attitudes they need for successful lifelong
learning. It supports the development of independent learning
skills, including the habits of enquiry and investigation and
contributes to the home/school partnership.
Homework is effective when:
homework
tasks are structured and their purpose explained to pupils
there
is consistent practice across the school
homework
is given regularly so that everyone knows what to expect each
week
pupils
and parents are clear about what they need to do
there
are high expectations
pupils
receive clear feedback
homework
policies are monitored and evaluated.
The focus of the homework will be on literacy
and numeracy through investigations and activities which encourage
the children to think. Regular reading at home, especially reading
with parents, will be encouraged.
From time to time children will be given other
tasks such as finding out information and preparing information
as well as traditional writing tasks.
